Nightlife in Northern Cyprus
Nightlife in Northern Cyprus centres on restaurants and bars. With a multitude of picturesque harbours and beaches, it's hardly surprising that most of the entertainment takes place outside.
The attractive harbour in Kyrenia is lined with restaurants and bars where waiters will do their best to catch your attention as you walk by in an attempt to get you to come in, even if you’ve already had dinner! They are places to be seen and places to observe how people in northern Cyprus really live.
But you don't have to eat. The bars in Kyrenia serve drinks all night - here a quick meze or two might be a good idea to soak up the alcohol. There's a great variety of bars of all styles.
There's also a large number of nightclubs. If you can't resist the temptation to get up and sing, on a Friday night the Villa Swallow is a haven for karaoke fans.
Live music venues often include sets by DJs but if you're really serious about your tunes, head down to La Habanara in the Rocks Hotel for some cool jazz.
Of course, if you just want to relax you can take a stroll round the harbour, enjoy traditional food in the quieter restaurants or just sit and relax in a cafe watching the world go by.
In Famagusta, beyond local bars and restaurants, the major hotels are the focus of nightlife. Beaches are also great places to find lively bars and restaurants.
